Ian and Victor's Presentation

On April 30, 2019, two of our Senior Global Scholars, Ian and Victor, gave their final presentation on The Global Housing Crisis.

I really enjoyed watching this presentation because it was unique for many reasons: Firstly, this is a topic that we don't hear much about in our daily lives, and being able to watch a whole hour-long presentation that two students have devoted months to preparing was so interesting. Secondly, the presentation was very unique because it was half in English, half in Spanish! Although I do not speak Spanish, I know that many of our school community members do, and this added yet another 'global' element to the event!

I really enjoyed how Ian and Victor used different mediums to show us their information: Verbally, through photos, and statistics charts/visuals. This was effective because when learning about a topic such as The Global Housing Crisis, I was not very informed on this prior to the event, so it was very helpful to have different visuals to help me!

It was also an amazing, yet unexpected element when a huge group of people came in, protesting the Housing Crisis! This added a lot to the presentation because it showed our school community, who doesn't face this crisis as much as others, the reality of the Housing Crisis and how it is affecting people in our own community.

I am so proud of  my fellow Global Scholars, Ian and Victor, for giving such an astounding presentation on The Global Housing Crisis, and I hope to work to this level during my year as a Senior Global Scholar in 2020!
